About
Laavanya Gupta
Connect, Reflect, Renew.
I am dedicated to providing one-to-one, individualised therapeutic care that is centred around each person's unique needs. With me, you will find a welcoming space where you feel safe to express your thoughts and emotions, recognising that a strong therapeutic alliance and a sense of connection and safety with one's therapist are crucial for successful therapy.

In my therapeutic approach, I incorporate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), which assists individuals in identifying and modifying detrimental behaviours and thought patterns, enabling them to respond to life's challenges in healthier ways. Additionally, I offer trauma-informed care. A trauma-informed therapist avoids re-traumatization by being sensitive to triggers, maintaining a predictable environment, and responding with compassion and respect. It shifts the question from “What’s wrong with you?” to “What happened to you?”, helping individuals rebuild a sense of control, safety, and connection.

Furthermore, I utilise mindfulness-based techniques to foster a serene, present-focused environment conducive to stress relief and anxiety reduction. These techniques encourage an attentive awareness of one's thoughts and feelings without judgment. I am also Queer Affirmative and have conducted significant work with the LGBTQIA+ community in both India and the UK.
