About
Laavanya Gupta
Psychotherapist
Connect, Reflect, Renew.
I am dedicated to providing one-to-one, individualised therapeutic care that is centred around each person's unique needs. With me, you will find a welcoming space where you feel safe to express your thoughts and emotions, recognising that a strong therapeutic alliance and a sense of connection and safety with one's therapist are crucial for successful therapy.
In my therapeutic approach, I incorporate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), which assists individuals in identifying and modifying detrimental behaviours and thought patterns, enabling them to respond to life's challenges in healthier ways. Additionally, I offer psychodynamic care, exploring the impact of past experiences on current behaviours and thought processes. This method aims to help individuals understand the role of childhood experiences, such as parenting styles or past relationships, in shaping their current difficulties.
Furthermore, I utilise mindfulness-based techniques to foster a serene, present-focused environment conducive to stress relief and anxiety reduction. These techniques encourage an attentive awareness of one's thoughts and feelings without judgment. I am also Queer Affirmative and have conducted significant work with the LGBTQIA+ community in both India and the UK.
